Roses or Rosas is a municipality in the comarca of Alt Empordà, province of Girona, Catalonia.
The city is in the center of the bay to which it gives the name - bay of Roses - and in the far north of the Gulf of Roses
It is a tourist center with many urbanizations, hotels and facilities, two ports (fishing and sport).
It is located in the northern zone whose reliefs rise on the Pyrenean foothills.
The climate is marked by the tramontane and the proximity of the sea.
The seafront is lined with a large sandy beach - between the new port and the grau - and, further east, many creeks, the best known are the Canyelles Petites, the Almadrava (or the Canyelles Grosses). ), Murtra, Rustella, Montjoi, Pelosa, and Jóncols.
